Lisa Altamirano

 Lisa grew-up in Pensacola, Florida enjoying life on the water.  Her activities included sailing, skiing, boating, scuba diving, swimming, soccer and tennis until she was reintroduced to dance.  Dance took her to Birmingham, AL in 8th grade to the Alabama School of Fine Arts. As an 8th grader she was a member of Alabama Ballet touring Alabama and even Hawaii.  Her excellent training and maturity took her to SUNY Purchase and later NYU's conservatories for dance. This experience laid the foundation to push the boundaries in sports medicine and general orthopedics at UAB Sports Medicine under Dr. William Garth after graduating from UAB Department of Physical Therapy. Her experience working with collegiate and professional athletes --as well as back/neck patients, dancers, adolescents, musicians, and trauma patients-- combined with her developing a Dance Injury Program created the catalyst to open Agile PT in 2008. What started as a niche practice for dance wellness has grown into a respected practice known for attention to detail and devotion to excellent care utilizing the most progressive manual and therapeutic methods to facilitate patients back to life, efficiently and safely. After 24+ years as a physical therapist she still loves her profession in addition to learning new skills and methods. Lisa takes pride in creating and treating alongside a team that believes in the same vision and values of wellness as the day she opened the clinic with her family.
